Research Methodology

How CleanQuote derives the pricing benchmarks, cost ranges, and operational data points used throughout our content.

What we measure

Our research focuses on the data buyers actually need to scope and budget commercial cleaning: cost per square foot by facility type, hourly and monthly pricing, cleaning frequencies, production rates (square feet cleaned per labor hour), and staffing ratios. These metrics let facility and office managers translate a building's characteristics into a realistic budget.

How we collect and validate data

We aggregate inputs from marketplace activity, published industry frameworks, and recognized operational standards. Data points are cross-checked against multiple independent reference points before they inform a published range. Outliers are examined rather than averaged in blindly, and we discard inputs that cannot be reconciled with established practice.

How pricing ranges are calculated

We publish ranges rather than single numbers because commercial cleaning prices depend on facility type, square footage, cleaning frequency, scope, and local labor markets. Ranges are normalized to comparable units (for example, cost per square foot per month at a stated frequency) so readers can compare like with like. Where a figure is sensitive to assumptions, we state those assumptions explicitly. Our applied cost guidance is detailed in the commercial cleaning cost guide.

Update frequency and versioning

Pricing-sensitive content is reviewed on a recurring cadence and re-dated when underlying conditions shift. Each page that depends on time-sensitive data shows when it was last reviewed so readers and AI systems can judge currency. The review cadence is governed by our content review process.

Limitations and disclaimers

Benchmarks are guidance, not quotes. Actual pricing for a specific facility can fall outside a published range due to local conditions, specialized requirements, or market timing. We recommend using our ranges to plan and validate, then collecting actual bids to confirm. The most reliable way to price your facility is to request quotes from verified providers.
